FAMILY LAW ATTORNEY - Danville

PLDR Law seeks to add a motivated, experienced, team-oriented attorney to our Danville office to make an immediate impact in our growing, 13-attorney firm.

You’ll join a family law team that is dynamic and focused on providing personalized, sophisticated counsel to clients facing myriad challenges. Our practice includes all issues related to families and children, including (but not limited to): divorce and spousal support; pre-nuptial, property settlement, and separation agreements; child custody, support, and visitation issues; protective orders; adoption and paternity issues; termination of parental rights; and guardianships and conservatorships. Our ideal candidate is an excellent teammate and has the drive and polish to market their own practice while also supporting our efforts to build systems that ensure we are the most effective, efficient, and strategic in our work, much of which is complex. 

PLDR Law offers a competitive salary and compensation package with additional incentive opportunities. With two locations in Lynchburg and Danville, Virginia, we offer candidates a unique opportunity to participate in a professional legal operation while living in a comfortable, relaxed, and community-centered environment. This position will be based in our Danville office with the expectation that a successful candidate will live within a thirty-minute drive of this office.

Salary Range:

Starting salary commensurate with experience; minimum of $90,000.00.

Responsibilities:

  • Providing a comprehensive, anticipatory, and enjoyable experience for our clients
  • Guiding new and existing clients through legal strategies that will be in their best interests
  • Contributing to the success of the team even if it means going outside of your job description
  • Contributing to our solid team culture and lean, efficient operations
  • Helping to grow the firm's presence throughout the region

Qualifications:

The ideal candidate will have experience working in firms with relationship-driven client operations, meeting with clients and involvement in consultation meetings, counseling clients on best practices and legal compliance, and a record of success moving clients through all aspects of family law matters in Juvenile & Domestic Relations and Circuit Courts throughout the region and specifically in Danville and Pittsylvania County.

They will be driven to exceed expectations and contribute to the growth of the firm in a meaningful way and will have the following qualifications:

  • Licensed to practice law in the Commonwealth of Virginia
  • At least 3 years of direct experience working in family law
  • High emotional intelligence
  • Business and tech-savvy, or a quick learner
  • Experience, and comfort, with one-on-one consultation meetings with clients

LITIGATION ATTORNEY - Lynchburg or Danville

You’ll join a 13-attorney team working on a diverse array of challenging matters that include, but are by no means limited to, a mix of commercial, fiduciary, construction, and general civil litigation. Our ideal candidate is an excellent teammate and has the drive and polish to build their own book of business while also supporting our efforts to build systems that ensure we are most effective, efficient, and strategic.

They will be driven to exceed expectations and contribute to the growth of the firm in a meaningful way and will have the following qualifications:

  • Licensed to practice law in the Commonwealth of Virginia
  • At least 5 years of experience working in civil litigation, with the ability to manage a diverse caseload and provide direction to support attorneys and staff
  • High emotional intelligence
  • Business and tech-savvy, or a quick learner
  • Experience with, and comfort with, one-on-one consultation meetings with clients on your own

SENIOR ADMINISTRATOR/PRACTICE MANAGER - TRUSTS AND ESTATES - Lynchburg or Danville 

PLDR Law seeks to add a motivated, experienced administrator to make an immediate impact in our growing trusts and estates practice.

You’ll join a practice group of attorneys and support staff that is dynamic and focused on providing personalized, sophisticated counsel to clients navigating a diverse array of current and future planning needs. Our practice includes all issues related to trust and estate planning and administration, including (but not limited to): estate planning, estate administration, trust creation, trust administration, asset management, business and succession planning, tax planning, and charitable giving. Our ideal candidate is an excellent teammate and has the drive and polish to serve as a primary contact for high-wealth clients and the beneficiaries of their plans while also supporting our efforts to build systems that ensure we are the most effective, efficient, and strategic in our work, much of which is both bespoke and complex.

We put the client experience and relationship with our firm first, above all else, and we’re looking for a senior administrator who enjoys working with a team to execute and strengthen our trust and estates practice strategies.

Salary Range:

Starting salary commensurate with experience with a starting range between $50,000 and $58,000.

Responsibilities: 

  • Provide a comprehensive, anticipatory, and enjoyable experience for our clients
  • Serve as primary contact for clients and estate and trust beneficiaries
  • Perform account administration duties, monitor assets, and manage distribution of funds
  • Draft and/or analyze wills, trust instruments, agency and custodial agreements, court orders, or other legal documents.

Qualifications:

The ideal candidate will have experience working in firms and/or financial institutions with relationship-driven client operations and a track record of customer service success.

They will be driven to exceed expectations and contribute to the growth of the firm in a meaningful way and will have the following qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience (required)
  • At least 5 years of direct experience working in wealth management and/or trusts and estates planning/administration
  • High emotional intelligence
  • Business and tech-savvy, or a quick learner
  • Experience, and comfort, with one-on-one consultation meetings with clients
  • Knowledge of trust accounting systems and common asset characteristics
  • Working knowledge of general accounting/tax principles and fiduciary compliance
  • High degree of professionalism and excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Flexible, able to adapt to change, with superior interpersonal and customer service skills
  • Attention to detail, fast response time, and strong time management and organizational and skills, with the ability to juggle multiple tasks
